Indian power producer NTPC Ltd has invited bids for 36 MW of grid-connected solar photovoltaic capacity, to be installed in the states of Telangana and Gujarat.

The projects will be awarded under two separate reverse auctions, according to the company’s website. Under the first tender, NTPC is searching for an EPC contractor for a 21-MW solar project in Gandhar, Gujarat. Eligible bids will be accepted by July 26.

Meanwhile, NTPC has started a competitive selection for a 15-MW grid-connected PV project in Ramagundam, Telangana. Interested parties will be able to submit proposals by July 30.

The scope of work under the two projects includes design, EPC, testing and commissioning of the solar parks, as well as operation and maintenance services for three years. Both projects will be developed on a turnkey basis and will be financed by NTPC from its own resources.

At the end of May, NTPC launched tenders for three solar parks totalling 102 MW in the states of Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka. According to Mercom’s India Solar Project Tracker, the Indian firm owns 870 MW of operational PV capacity and also has 750 MW of projects in the pre-construction phase.
