The tender is expected to commence within 10 days, as decided in a management meeting of the state-owned company. The planned capacity will be added at four locations in Telangana state’s coal mining belt, including 60 MW at Yellandu, 50 MW at Ramagundam, 30 MW at Manuguru and 10 MW at the Singareni thermal power station. According to the report from Wednesday, the particular sites have already been identified.

Singareni Collieries will hire a consulting company to help it with the tender proceedings. The coal mining group operates in four districts of Telangana and is supplying coal to most of the state. It owns a 1,200-MW thermal power plant in Jaipur, Mancherial district, and is in the process of expanding its capacity.
