Urban Renewables has now created a total portfolio of 10 MW rooftop solar in Singapore within 9 months of signing its very first project in March 2021. The project was signed with NS BlueScope Lysaght, a wall cladding and steel roofing company.
Urban Renewables was established in June 2020, with the aim to develop and invest in sustainable energy solutions for the betterment of urbanization, as well as, to provide opportunities for communities to participate and invest in the energy transition of their own cities.
The company also launched its electric vehicle charging services in partnerships with Geneco, REC Solar, and NS BlueScope Lysaght. It has signed 20 PPAs for 30 industrial and commercial buildings. Urban Renewables is also planning to expand to Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Australia.
“In addition to the drive-by many companies towards becoming more sustainable, the recent spike in energy prices has seen a significant increase in the demand from buildings owners for solar rooftop installations,” said Managing Director of Urban Renewables, Edgare Kerkwijk.
The company also plans to have 100 MW of photovoltaic rooftop solar systems by the end of the year 2025 and it is actively working towards it.
