Ahmed Zeghdar, Minister of Industry of Algeria, and Benattou Ziane, Minister of Renewable Energy inaugurate a solar panel facility in Ouargla province with a 180 MW annual capacity.

The solar panel facility is owned by Zergoun Green Energy. According to the Ministry of Industry, this project is very important for the country in terms of deploying 1 GW of solar PV capacity in the country for the Solar 1,000 initiative.

The solar panel facility will meet 40% of solar market needs and supply solar modules in the country.

The solar power plant will be built in five provinces of Algeria. These provinces are Touggourt, Bechar, Ouargla, El-Oued and Laghouat. The power plant in Ouargla will be spread across 200 hectares with a 100 MW capacity in Ouargla.

The transition to green and clean energy is inevitable and investments are required in these areas and the investment must be increased for the larger good.
