NTPC Arm To Develop 10GW Renewable Energy Park in Rajasthan

NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd ( NREL), the arm of the state-run power giant NTPC, has signed a memorandum o understanding (MoU ) with the Rajasthan government in order to create 10 GW ultra mega renewable power parks (UMREPP).

In a statement, the power PSU stated that NTPC Group had set a goal of 60 GW renewable energy capacity in 2032.

The statement stated that NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd (NTPC REL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC, had signed a memorandum of agreement (MOU), with the Government of Rajasthan in order to develop a 10 GW Ultra Mega Renewable Energy Park in Rajasthan.

According to the company, NTPC REL won 4 GW of renewable energy capacity in less than two years after its inception. This was achieved by bidding in different tenders that are in different stages.

NTPC REL is also developing a 4.75 GW capacity UMREPP in Rann Of Kutch, Gujarat. NTPC REL has also entered a joint venture agreement to develop RE parks and other projects with DVC.
