Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) has granted approval to Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL) to procure 150 MW of solar power at ₹3.3/kWh under the Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana (MSKVY).
The procured solar power will contribute towards meeting MSEDCL’s solar Renewable Purchase Obligations (RPO). Initially, MSEDCL set a ceiling tariff of ₹3.30/kWh, which was later revised to ₹3.10/kWh due to a poor response.
However, a subsequent tender without a ceiling tariff resulted in higher bids, prompting MSEDCL to reintroduce a tender with a ceiling tariff of ₹3.30/kWh. NACOF, in consortium with Nithin Sai Construction and Unipaam Organics, emerged as the successful bidder with a capacity of 150 MW.
The Commission approved the tariff on a long-term basis for 25 years, considering MSEDCL’s verification of the bidder’s capability.
