DPS Resources Bhd, through its subsidiary DPS Energy Sdn Bhd, has forged a Joint Venture Agreement (JVA) with Mutiara Mahajuta Sdn Bhd for prime 190.09-acre land in Mukim of Bukit Apit II, Daerah Alor Gajah, Melaka. Specializing in green energy and engineering services, DPSE aims to pioneer an integrated project covering agro-tourism, crops, bio farms, renewable energy, solar farms, and aqua-phonics on this agriculturally categorized land.
This collaboration marks a significant stride in DPS Resources’ strategic plan to amplify the value of its landbanks, totalling over 1,000 acres acquired through strategic expansions and acquisitions amid the pandemic. Tan Sri Sow Chin Chuan, Executive Chairman of DPS Resources Berhad, outlined the broader strategy, emphasizing the potential gross development value of approximately RM6 billion for these lands.
Under the JV structure, DPS Resources Berhad will oversee project management, with net profits allocated at a ratio of 65% for DPSE and 35% for Mutiara Mahajuta. The latter will distribute its share among individual landowners. Engaging with potential investors and partners in green energy and engineering services, DPS Resources aims to leverage expertise for maximum land potential.
The initiative aligns with the Corporate Green Power Programme (CGPP) introduced by the Madani Government, enabling Third Party Access (TPA) to the national electricity grid. Tan Sri Sow Chin Chuan sees this venture as a game-changer, contributing significantly to DPS Resources’ future earnings, financial resilience, and the national green energy market. The strategic location of the project, combined with its sunlight exposure and tapping points, positions it favorably for establishing a solar farm.
DPS Resources Berhad’s commitment to sustainability and community development is evident in its collaborative efforts and partnerships. The company remains dedicated to realizing a vision of sustainable development, making a positive impact on Malaysia’s green energy market, and upholding Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitments.
