Longroad Energy Management, LLC is set to conduct two virtual public meetings to discuss the Artemesia solar photovoltaic solar generation and energy storage project. The meetings are scheduled for Tuesday, January 30, 2024, and Thursday, February 1, 2024. The proposed project is located approximately seven miles northwest of Yerington, NV, in Lyon County.
Artemesia Solar, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Longroad Energy Management, LLC, has applied for a 30-year right-of-way grant. The construction period is expected to last 18 to 24 months and will involve two solar generating facility areas covering about 4,368 acres of public lands. The project envisions a 300-megawatt alternating current solar photovoltaic generation and energy storage, along with a 345kV generation interconnection transmission line connecting to a proposed substation owned by NV Energy, located around 2.25 miles south of the project area.
The stakeholder meeting aims to provide information on the proposed project and seek stakeholder and public input for variance approval, as required by the Solar Energy Development Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement Record of Decision. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) evaluates applications for solar energy development in variance areas on a case-by-case basis before initiating compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). Topics covered in the meeting will include an overview of the project, discussions on size, capacity, structures, timeline, and environmental concerns known at this stage.
