Samaiden and JS Solar Consortium Awarded RM100 Million Contract for 50MWac Solar Power Plant in Kulim Hi-Tech Park

Samaiden Group Berhad, a prominent player in the renewable energy sector specializing in engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and power plants, has announced a significant development in collaboration with JS Solar Sdn Bhd. Samaiden Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Samaiden, and JS Solar have secured a contract valued at RM100 million from NUR Renewables Sdn Bhd for the development of a solar power plant at Kulim Hi-Tech Park (KHTP) in Kedah.

NUR Renewables Sdn Bhd, specializing in electricity generation, transmission, distribution, and retail in Malaysia, holds exclusive rights as the sole independent power utility in KHTP. The contract is part of NUR’s commitment to supplying renewable energy within KHTP and represents the initial phase of a larger 500MWac solar project, developed in collaboration with UEM Lestra Berhad, the green energy arm of UEM Group.

The noteworthy project involves the development of a ground-mounted 50 megawatts (MWac) solar power plant, with the primary aim of providing green energy to all customers located at KHTP. Ir. Chow Pui Hee, the Group Managing Director of Samaiden, expressed enthusiasm, highlighting the project as a significant step towards a sustainable future. She emphasized the company’s dedication to expanding and diversifying its engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) portfolio, underscoring their expertise and commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions in the renewable energy sector.
