Lumin Partners with Sunnova to Enhance Solar Power Homes with Smart Energy Management

In a strategic move towards advancing smart energy solutions for homeowners, Lumin, a pioneer in responsive energy management, has announced a collaboration with Sunnova Energy International, Inc. (NYSE: NOVA), a leading adaptive energy services company. This collaboration aims to integrate Lumin’s innovative Smart Panel and intelligent energy management platform into Sunnova’s Adaptive Home offering.

The Lumin Smart Panel, renowned for its cutting-edge technology, will be made accessible to tens of thousands of homeowners through Sunnova’s extensive dealer network, with availability starting in the first quarter of 2024. Additionally, the Lumin Smart Panel will be installed in Sunnova’s upcoming Adaptive Technology Center (ATC), equipped with state-of-the-art energy testing and integration technologies, scheduled to open in the same quarter.

Sunnova’s Adaptive Homeโ„ข is a comprehensive solution combining solar power, battery storage, and smart energy management, designed to make clean energy more affordable, reliable, and resilient for homeowners. By integrating Lumin’s Smart Panel into this offering and incorporating its energy management software into the Sunnova app, Sunnova aims to provide customers with enhanced comfort, insight, and control over their energy usage.

The collaboration leverages Lumin’s Control What Matters load management approach and hardware-agnostic platform to provide a scalable and cost-effective tool for advancing home electrification. Unlike traditional home battery systems limited to backing up only a few circuits, Adaptive Homes powered by Lumin Smart panels offer access to all circuits through responsive load management, extending whole-home backup capabilities.

Michael Grasso, Chief Revenue Officer at Sunnova, expressed enthusiasm about the integration, stating, “Lumin’s smart energy management platform aligns with Sunnova’s commitment to powering energy independence,” highlighting the expanded options for consumers and dealers to achieve energy goals.

CEO of Lumin, Kelly Warner, emphasized the significance of the collaboration in accelerating the energy transition, noting that the integration with Sunnova’s Adaptive Home offering is a game-changer for making intelligent home energy management more accessible and affordable.

The partnership with Sunnova marks a significant milestone for Lumin, further solidifying its position in the market. With installations across more than 45 states and territories and a network of over 400 certified installers, Lumin continues to drive innovation in the field of smart energy management.
