Sunsure Energy, a prominent player in India’s commercial and industrial (C&I) renewable energy sector, is pleased to announce the addition of Mr. Manoj Kohli and Mr. Mahesh Makhija to its Board of Directors.

The appointment of Mr. Kohli and Mr. Makhija signifies a strategic strengthening of the company’s leadership team. With Mr. Kohli’s extensive 45-year track record in diverse global markets and Mr. Makhija’s over two decades of experience in the renewable energy sector, their combined expertise will bring valuable insights and strategic direction to Sunsure Energy. Alongside Mr. Inderpreet Wadhwa, Founder & CEO of Azure Power, who joined the Board in December 2022, they will play pivotal roles in guiding Sunsure as it continues to expand its footprint in India’s renewable energy landscape.

Mr. Manoj Kohli, an accomplished entrepreneur, previously served as the Country Head of SoftBank India, where he oversaw a $15 billion investment in 25 tech-focused portfolio companies. Prior to this, he held the position of Managing Director and CEO at Bharti Airtel, leading its transformation into one of the world’s largest telecom companies. Mr. Kohli’s leadership also contributed to the success of SB Energy, achieving significant milestones in renewable energy capacity.

Mr. Mahesh Makhija brings more than two decades of experience in the renewable energy sector to Sunsure Energy’s Board. With a background that includes key roles at Apraava Energy (formerly known as CLP India) and a successful stint in consulting with Arthur Andersen, Mr. Makhija offers valuable insights into various sectors, including pharmaceuticals, chemicals, shipping, and media.

Their collective expertise in business scaling and innovation will be instrumental as Sunsure Energy enters its next phase of growth. The company aims to develop and deploy renewable power plants across India, furthering its commitment to sustainable energy solutions for its customers.
