The Energy Commission of Sabah (ECoS) has launched a new program called the Grid-Connected Solar Photovoltaic System For Self Consumption Programme In Sabah (SELCO-PV SABAH).
The program is designed to allow consumers in Sabah to install solar panels on their own property and generate their own electricity. This will help consumers lower their electricity bills and reduce their reliance on the grid.
The SELCO-PV SABAH program is a self-consumption program, which means that any excess energy generated by the solar panels will not be exported back to the grid. This is in contrast to net metering programs, which allow consumers to sell excess energy back to the utility company.
The program is open to all consumers in Sabah, regardless of whether they are residential, commercial, or industrial. Consumers who are interested in participating in the program can apply online or by contacting a participating electrical contractor.
The ECoS is hoping that the SELCO-PV SABAH program will help to increase the use of solar energy in Sabah. Solar energy is a clean and renewable energy source that can help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and combat climate change.
