NTPC and NALCO Ink MOU to Power NALCO’s New Smelter Plant

NTPC Limited inked a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), a prestigious Navaratna Company renowned for its aluminum production.

The aim is to explore various energy options such as coal-based thermal, solar photovoltaic, wind, other renewable energies, energy storage solutions, or any combination thereof. This collaboration seeks to provide approximately 1200 MW or more of continuous, uninterrupted power to fulfill NALCO’s requirements for expanding its smelter plant capacity in Angul, Odisha.

The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Shri Dillip Kumar Patel, Director (HR) of NTPC, and Shri Jagdish Arora, Director (Project & Technical) of NALCO, at the SCOPE Complex in New Delhi.
