Local officials and representatives from X-ELIO and Negratín gathered for the groundbreaking ceremony of the ‘PSF Arco I’ photovoltaic plant, a collaborative effort between municipalities in Extremadura, Spain. With an investment of 41 million euros, the plant, led by X-ELIO and Negratín, will feature approximately 73,000 photovoltaic modules, generating 50 MW of clean energy annually. This sustainable initiative is poised to power 20,525 households yearly.
The project underscores X-ELIO’s commitment to renewable energy in Extremadura, evident in its seventh plant in the region and the establishment of a permanent office in Mérida. Additionally, X-ELIO’s Sustainable Communities Plan aligns with its social responsibility by promoting local socio-economic well-being through education, tourism, and energy self-consumption initiatives.
Arancha Martínez, X-ELIO’s Country Manager, emphasized the collaborative efforts between regional and local authorities, highlighting their dedication to economic and sustainable development. Víctor Píriz and Víctor del Moral, General Secretaries of Economy and Sustainable Development respectively, lauded the significance of investments like ‘Arco I’ in promoting clean energy and community welfare.
Local mayors, Alfredo Aguilera, Rafael Mateos, and Marta Jordán, expressed gratitude for X-ELIO’s commitment to rural development, emphasizing the project’s potential to drive socio-economic progress in surrounding areas. They underscored the importance of innovation and sustainable development for local economies and job creation.
