Iran And Tajikistan Ministers Discuss Collaborative Opportunities, Highlighting Iranian Role In Solar Power Plant Project

In a virtual meeting, Ali-Akbar Mehrabian, the Minister of Energy for Iran, and his Tajik counterpart Daler Juma engaged in discussions regarding collaborative projects between the two countries.

Mehrabian highlighted the importance of implementing the comprehensive document on Iran-Tajikistan cooperation signed during the 16th Joint Commission in December 2023.

He expressed gratitude for Tajikistan hosting the 16th Iran-Tajikistan Joint Economic, Trade, and Scientific Commission and the Iran-Made Expo.

Mehrabian underscored Iranian companies’ readiness to contribute to Tajikistan’s projects, particularly in large turbines and technical sectors.

The discussions included topics such as the Sangtuda 2 Hydroelectric Power Plant and a solar power plant in the Vorukh region. The 16th Iran-Tajikistan Joint Economic Committee meeting took place in Dushanbe in December 2023, where cooperation agreements were signed.

In November 2023, both countries signed a joint statement and 18 cooperation documents and MOUs to strengthen bilateral relations.
