President LONGi Utility MEA&CA Leads Discussions on Future Energy Transformation at Net Zero MEA

LONGi Solar showcased its commitment to sustainable energy solutions at the recent Net Zero MEA conference held at Habtoor Grand Resort Dubai from March 4th to March 6th. The conference convened influential personnel and leaders from the energy industry to delve into the latest advancements in solar power generation, photovoltaic technologies, smart grids, and the integration of solar power.

Among the notable attendees were prominent figures such as government officials, industry executives, and thought leaders from around the world. President of LONGi Utility MEA&CA, Mr. James Jin, delivered a compelling presentation highlighting key insights and strategies for achieving zero carbon emissions.

Mr. Jin’s presentation focused on several critical areas, including the role of Green Power + Green Hydrogen solutions in driving towards zero carbon emissions and identifying three key trends for future energy transformation: solar, energy storage, and green hydrogen.

He highlighted the fact that according to IRENA, from 2010 to 2021, LCOE has dropped by 88% and LONGi is proud to have contributed to this by innovating and making solar power more affordable. He informed that last year, LONGi built the first Lighthouse factory of the industry in Jiaxing, which is capable of making a solar panel every 18 seconds, reducing waste by 43%, making delivery faster by 84%, and cutting energy use at the factory by 20%. โ€œWe will continue our efforts to lower LCOE and LCOH which will eventually help achieve KSA and MENA regionโ€™s clean energy goalsโ€ he went on to add.

He also emphasized LONGi’s significant investments in research and development, including a $1 billion R&D investment in 2022 and a cumulative total R&D investment of $2.5 billion from 2012 to 2022.

He reiterated LONGi’s ambitious yet pragmatic approach to corporate climate action, highlighting initiatives such as the “Solar for Solar” concept introduced at the 24th UN Climate Change Conference (COP24) and the company’s participation in various climate initiatives such as RE100, EP100, EV100, and SBTi.

LONGi Solar remains dedicated to advancing its climate action efforts, with a focus on reducing carbon emissions throughout its value chain and accelerating the establishment of sustainable development and ESG management systems.

The Net Zero MEA conference provided an invaluable platform for industry leaders to exchange insights, share best practices, and collaborate on solutions for a sustainable energy future.
