Dr. David Zhang, CTO of Sunpure, participated in the panel discussion titled “Opportunities & Challenges โ Developing Solar PV in KSA & MENA” at Saudi Arabia Green Energy Week 2024. He shed light on the significance of Automated Robotic Cleaning Systems (ARCS).
Dr. Zhang underscored the rapid advancement of ARCS technology, highlighting Sunpure’s commitment to the R&D of PV robots. He introduced the proven efficacy of ARCS across numerous PV plants, notably in the KSA and MENA regions, by delivering stable, efficient, and reliable cleaning services.
The implementation of ARCS has led to notable savings in water and labour costs, a reduction in the Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE), and an increase in the Internal Rate of Return (IRR).
Dr. Zhang emphasized the critical integration of ARCS during the design stage, stressing the need for tailored cleaning solutions through comprehensive consideration of modules, trackers, layout, etc.
Sunpure was accompanied by respectful representatives from renowned organisations like ACWA Power, Amarenco, LONGi Solar, Yellow Door Energy, and SirajPower, a Positive Zero company.
