The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has declared an extension of the deadline for the tender regarding the construction of the Second Azraq Solar Energy Project.

The project aims to further exploit solar energy for sustainable electricity generation. Interested parties now have until April 18 to submit their bids.

Underlining the government’s dedication to renewable energy advancement, the ministry specified that the project will be implemented under a “turnkey” contract model.

Additionally, upon its completion, the project will seamlessly integrate into the national power grid, functioning as a wholly government-owned entity.

The project is not only envisioned to generate electricity from solar energy but also to stimulate investment in the growing solar energy sector. It is anticipated to create job opportunities for local workers, both during the construction phase and ongoing operation.

Furthermore, the project is in line with broader national goals to enhance the utilization of renewable energy sources in the country’s energy mix.
