Charoen Pokphand Indonesia Implements Solar Power Plant For Sustainable Energy Transition
PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia Tbk (CPIN), a poultry industry leader, has initiated its transition to sustainable energy by installing a solar power plant (PLTS) in collaboration with solar energy developer SUN Energy. โThrough this long-term partnership with SUN Energy, we believe that installing PLTS can contribute to addressing the challenges of global climate change,โ stated Aditya Taufiq Wibowo, General Manager of Production at Charoen Pokphand Indonesia, in Jakarta, as reported by Antara on Friday, March 15. The PLTS was set up at one of PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesiaโs Plants in Salatiga, Central Java, boasting a capacity of 1.5 MWp. It is estimated that the utilization of solar energy will generate 1,508,458 kWh of electricity annually, resulting in a reduction of 1,178 tons of carbon emissions and the equivalent of planting 17,676 trees.

Chinese state-owned enterprise Huadian is set to establish a $2.4 billion green hydrogen facility in central Vietnam in collaboration with local partner Minh Quang JSC. The proposed project, recently presented to authorities in Quang Tri province, encompasses a 1,200 MW wind power plant, an 800 MW solar power plant, and a water electrolysis plant for hydrogen production, alongside necessary storage and transportation infrastructure. Upon completion, the facility, situated within Quang Triโs Dong Gio Linh industrial cluster, is projected to generate an annual output of 60,000 tons of hydrogen, generate $250 million in yearly revenue, employ 500 individuals, and contribute $27.5 million to the state budget.
