Brightcore Energy, a frontrunner in renewable energy solutions for commercial and institutional sectors, is crafting a solar project portfolio for Princeton University’s Facilities Organization. These installations will be situated atop rooftop and canopy structures across the university’s campus in Princeton, NJ.
The initiative encompasses four arrays, with two to be rooftop-mounted and two canopy-mounted, totaling approximately 2.2MWdc. Rooftop installations will grace the TIGER and CUB buildings, while canopy-mounted arrays will adorn the Meadows and Stadium garages. With a total of 4,039 panels, these arrays aim to generate an estimated 2,588 MWh of electricity annually. Brightcore anticipates commencing construction in summer 2024.
Princeton University aims for Net Carbon Neutrality by 2046, emphasizing renewables in its Sustainability Action Plan. Upon completion, the annual production is projected to avert around 1,834 metric tons of CO2 emissions, akin to incinerating over 2 million pounds of coal.
