In the latest renewable energy auction by India’s NTPC for 1000 MW ISTS-connected wind-solar hybrid projects, part of the Tranche-V initiative, a significant leap towards green energy was marked. The competitive bidding process concluded with several key players in the renewable sector winning substantial capacities.

Sprng Energy, AMPIN Energy Transition, and Juniper Green Energy each secured 150 MW at tariffs of ₹3.41, ₹3.42, and ₹3.43 per kWh respectively. ReNew Energy emerged as the largest single winner with 300 MW at a tariff bid of ₹3.44 per kWh. Avaada Energy followed closely, securing 250 MW at a tariff of ₹3.47 per kWh. These winning bids reflect a slight increase in the tariffs, signaling the competitive and aggressive nature of the auction.

It’s noteworthy that Avaada Energy won an additional 250 MW out of the 500 MW capacity quoted, indicating a robust participation in the auction.

The aggregate capacity aimed for auction totaled 1,000 MW, and with the conclusion of this event, NTPC has taken another stride in consolidating India’s position in the renewable energy sector.
