NHPC Initiates Tender for 1.2 GW Solar Power Projects in India

The National Hydroelectric Power Corporation Limited (NHPC) has issued a tender for the selection of solar power generators to establish 1.2 GW of Inter State Transmission System (ISTS) connected solar power projects across India. The tender, announced on May 31, 2024, outlines a significant opportunity for renewable energy expansion in the country.

Interested parties are required to pay a tender fee of โ‚น3,54,000 to NHPC Limited, with no exemptions allowed. Additionally, an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of โ‚น9,42,000 is mandatory, payable to NHPC Limited in Faridabad. The bid submission period spans from June 19 to June 29, 2024, with the bid opening scheduled for July 4, 2024.

This initiative aligns with India’s ongoing efforts to boost renewable energy capacity and reduce dependence on traditional fossil fuels. With a focus on solar power, the project aims to contribute significantly to India’s clean energy goals and bolster its position as a global leader in renewable energy adoption. The selection process is anticipated to attract competitive bids from leading solar energy firms eager to participate in the nation’s sustainable energy transition.
