Qcells has announced the completion and the commencement of commercial operations for the Ocotillo Wells Solar project. This significant development is situated in Borrego Springs, California, and features a combined solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) with a capacity of 50 megawatts (MW) of solar power and 200 megawatt-hours (MWh) of battery storage.

The Ocotillo Wells Solar project exemplifies Qcells’ expertise in delivering turnkey engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services for utility-scale solar and energy storage initiatives. The EPC team was responsible for the design and construction, incorporating over 113,000 of Qcells’ solar modules. This project integrates photovoltaic (PV) power generation with advanced battery storage, ensuring a reliable and sustainable energy supply for the grid.

“We are excited to accomplish the construction of the Ocotillo Wells Solar project,” said Mr. IP Kim, President of Qcells USA. “Reaching the finish line on a project like this reflects our dedication to providing energy solutions that support the growth of American energy. We are honored to contribute to the energy landscape and execute another clean energy project that aids America’s energy transition.”
