Western Coalfields Limited (WCL), based in Nagpur, Maharashtra, has issued a tender inviting bids for the design, construction, and ten-year maintenance of a 5 MW solar power plant in the Chandrapur area. This project offers a comprehensive opportunity for a qualified contractor, encompassing several key stages: WCL seeks a single contractor to handle the entire project lifecycle, from initial design and engineering through to final commissioning and ongoing maintenance.

The chosen contractor will be responsible for developing a comprehensive plan outlining the technical specifications and construction methods for the solar plant. This includes factors like solar panel type and layout, mounting structures, inverter selection, and electrical system design.

The contractor will source all necessary materials and equipment, including solar panels, mounting structures, inverters, transformers, cabling, and any other required components. This phase involves building the physical infrastructure of the plant. This includes laying the foundation, installing the solar panels and mounting structures, wiring the system, and connecting it to the grid.

Testing and Commissioning: After construction is complete, the plant will undergo rigorous testing to ensure it functions properly and meets all safety and performance standards. This may involve electrical testing, performance monitoring, and grid synchronization.

WCL requires a long-term commitment to plant maintenance. This includes regular cleaning of the solar panels, performance monitoring to ensure optimal energy output, preventive maintenance to identify and address potential issues, and repairs or replacements as needed.

Bid Opening: date will be July 11th, 2024, Bid Document Sale Ends: July 8th, 2024, and Bid Submission Deadline: July 8th, 2024. While, the Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) โ‚น31,51,573.

Mobilization and Start of Construction: Within 30 days of accepting the bid and submitting the performance security, or seven days after receiving the site for initial construction activities (whichever comes later).

Construction Duration will be 270 days, Operation and Maintenance Period will be 10 years, Containing technical documents and qualifications to demonstrate their experience and expertise in designing, building, and maintaining large-scale solar power plants. Containing the price bid in a password-protected Excel format provided by WCL. This document will include a Bill of Quantities (BOQ) where bidders will quote their rates for all necessary materials and services.
