Madayn Signs Agreement to Establish Solar PV Power Plant in KOM

Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM), the technology arm of the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), has entered into an agreement with Solar Wadi Company to establish a Solar PV Power Plant with a capacity of 1.4 MW. The project, with an estimated cost of RO 500,000, is set to be installed and operational within a year at KOM. The agreement includes a 25-year contract for the plant’s installation, operation, and maintenance.

This initiative aligns with Madayn’s objective to promote clean energy and contribute to Omanโ€™s efforts to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. Madayn is dedicated to creating a dynamic live-work-play environment while prioritizing environmental preservation, especially in the industrial sector. In collaboration with its partners, Madayn aims to raise awareness among investors in various industrial cities, encouraging the adoption of safe, sustainable, and innovative alternative energy sources.

Madayn’s environmental focus extends to several key areas, including managing hazardous and non-hazardous waste, controlling liquid waste disposal into marine environments, reducing air and noise emissions, ensuring proper handling and usage of chemicals, storing hazardous materials, safely demolishing buildings and disposing of asbestos, mitigating land pollution, and optimizing water and energy consumption.
