Colibri Capital, a leading company in distributed generation (DG), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tongwei, a global leader in photovoltaic product manufacturing and polysilicon production. The MoU grants Colibri exclusive distribution rights for Tongweiโ€™s solar panels in Brazil’s North and Northeast regions, as well as in Minas Gerais. The agreement covers both centralized generation (CG) and distributed generation (DG).

Carlos Eduardo Barros, President of Colibri Group, highlighted the strategic importance of this partnership. “In our growth trajectory, we identified an opportunity for the distribution of equipment in Brazil. Therefore, we sought partners in China to establish a complete chain of global suppliers of modules, inverters, and batteries to supply our energy production network and for consumers and integrators in general,” Barros stated.

The partnership with Tongwei is a significant step for Colibri in expanding its clean energy production. The MoU ensures a steady supply of panels and modules for Colibriโ€™s companies, marking a move towards vertical integration within the solar energy generation chain. Barros also mentioned an additional agreement with Sirius, a major distributor in Brazil’s North and Northeast regions. “This allows us to organize a partnership with a large global supplier and a vast distribution network at once,” he added.

For Tongwei, this agreement aligns with their strategic goals in the Brazilian photovoltaic market. “We see Brazil as a great partner for China in the clean energy sector and in companies’ commitment to improving quality of life. The agreement with Colibri reaffirms Tongwei’s mission to become a world-class clean energy operator, within a country that has enormous potential and where solar energy is growing rapidly,” said Luiz Eduardo Sobreira, responsible for Tongweiโ€™s operations in Brazil.

The initial products to be introduced to Colibriโ€™s portfolio include Tongwei’s 625 W modules, designed for roof installations, the 710 W modules for higher energy productivity, and the 715 W modules, which feature reduced energy loss from microcracks and less internal resistive loss, with a more aesthetic appearance.

Colibri Group, with an annual revenue exceeding R$200 million and around R$1 billion in attracted investments, has a robust presence in the solar energy and agroforestry sectors. Its business structure, which includes companies like E1 Energia, Eco Soluรงรตes, GDSolar, Biolux, and recently Sirius, contributes significantly to sustainable development, boasting 100 operational solar plants and agroforestry cultivation on 100 hectares.
