JSW Renew Energy (Raj) Limited, a subsidiary of JSW Energy Limited, has finalized a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with SJVN Limited for a 700 MW solar capacity project in Rajasthan. The agreement stipulates a supply of power over 25 years at a tariff of โน2.52 per KWh. The project is slated for commissioning within the next 24 months, increasing JSW Energy’s locked-in solar capacity to 3.5 GW.
JSW Energy’s Growing Capacity and Ambitions
JSW Energy currently maintains a total locked-in generation capacity of 13.9 GW, which includes 7.3 GW operational and 2.6 GW under construction across wind, thermal, and hydro sectors. Additionally, the company has a renewable energy pipeline of 4.0 GW, with PPAs signed for 2.0 GW. JSW Energy also boasts 3.4 GWh of locked-in energy storage capacity through battery energy storage systems and hydro pumped storage projects.
Looking forward, JSW Energy aims to achieve a generation capacity of 20 GW and an energy storage capacity of 40 GWh by 2030. Furthermore, the company has set an ambitious target of achieving Carbon Neutrality by 2050, underscoring its commitment to sustainability and renewable energy development.
This initiative aligns with JSW Energy’s strategic goals to expand its renewable energy portfolio and contribute to India’s energy transition efforts.
