Under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, Egypt continues to bolster cooperation with African nations through targeted training initiatives in the energy sector. Over the past two weeks, Egypt welcomed 48 interns from Djibouti, Somalia, Tanzania, South Sudan, Kenya, and Rwanda. These interns participated in comprehensive training programs focusing on:
- Operation and maintenance of transportation networks
- Economic operation of power plants
- Smart networks
- Solar energy technology and energy efficiency
The training programs, part of Egypt’s “Cooperation with African Countries” project funded by the Ministry of Electricity and Energy, spanned two weeks each, encompassing theoretical learning and practical field visits to various electricity holding company sites, subsidiaries, renewable energy firms, and local manufacturing facilities.
Today, the completion ceremony took place at the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy in the New Administrative Capital. The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Eng. Osama Asran, and Chairman of the Holding Company for Electricity, Eng. Gaber Desouky, along with leaders from Egypt’s electricity sector.
Participants expressed gratitude for Egypt’s hospitality and the high-quality training facilitated by Egyptian experts. They highlighted the valuable experience gained and pledged to apply their newfound knowledge in their respective countries. Egypt’s commitment to regional capacity building extends further with nearly 9,300 trainees from African and Arab countries benefiting from similar programs, reinforcing sustainable development goals in the electricity sector across the region.
