Waaree Renewable Technologies Limited, a subsidiary of Waaree Energies Limited, has been awarded the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract for Juna Renewable Energy Private Limited’s 412.5 MWp/335 MW photovoltaic project in Rajasthan. Waaree Energies Limited is India’s largest manufacturer of solar PV modules, with an installed capacity of 12 GW as of June 30, 2023, according to a CRISIL report.
The project, located in Kawani Village, Bikaner district, is a large-scale utility solar plant that will utilize bifacial solar modules supplied by Waaree Energies Limited. These modules, mounted on horizontal single-axis trackers, are designed to enhance energy yield through improved light absorption and tracking capabilities. As the EPC contractor, Waaree Renewable Technologies Limited will oversee design engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning of the project. This includes the installation of a 33/220 kV plant substation, power transformers, and a combination of automatic and semi-automatic module cleaning robots.
“We are pleased to have been entrusted with the EPC mandate for ACCIONA Energyโs subsidiary Juna Renewable’s Project,” said Mr. Viren Doshi, Executive Director of Waaree Renewable Technologies Limited. “This project demonstrates our capabilities in executing large-scale solar projects, from module supply to turnkey EPC solutions. With our engineering expertise and proven track record, we are well-equipped to deliver this project efficiently, integrating advanced technologies and sustainable practices.”
Mr. Radhakrishnan Ramachandran, Managing Director of ACCIONA Energรญa in India, expressed confidence in the partnership. “We are honored to collaborate with Waaree Renewable Technologies Limited for this project. Their commitment to renewable energy and capabilities in the sector make them a trusted partner. Together, we aim to deliver this project efficiently, contributing to Indiaโs renewable energy goals and promoting a sustainable future.”
The Juna Renewable Energy solar project marks a significant step in Indiaโs pursuit of its renewable energy targets and the transition to a sustainable, low-carbon future. By harnessing solar power, the plant is expected to generate clean electricity, offsetting substantial greenhouse gas emissions and driving environmental sustainability in the region. The successful execution of this project will underscore Indiaโs commitment to embracing renewable energy and combating climate change through large-scale green initiatives.
