The Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) has announced the results of its auction to develop 500 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar projects on government and semi-government buildings as well as other institutions within Uttar Pradesh. These projects will operate under the renewable energy service company model, utilizing net metering.
The projects are categorized into two groups: Category 1, comprising projects ranging from 25 kW to 200 kW, and Category 2, ranging from 200 kW to 2,000 kW. The determined tariff for Category 1 projects is Rs 4.9 per kWh, while Category 2 projects will receive Rs 4.85 per kWh.
Winners and their respective capacities under Category 1 include Kosuke Service with 10 MW, NRGY 6 with 6.37 MW, Lords Mark Industries with 50 MW, KLK Ventures with 5 MW, and G P Edible Foods with 10 MW. Category 2 winners are HFM Solar with 10 MW and OMC Power with 10 MW.
Each project must fall within the size range of 25 kW to 2,000 kW, with individual rooftop units capable of independent grid connections and metering. Only one project per meter consumer number is allowed, with a maximum project size of 2,000 kW. Furthermore, the solar modules and cells used must be manufactured in India and comply with the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers of Solar Photovoltaic Modules (Compulsory Registration Requirement) Order 2019.
