Leaders from Nevadaโ€™s public and private sectors gathered for the Nevada Sustainability Summit: Upping the Game. This event spotlighted initiatives and pathways to bolster the stateโ€™s economy by tackling sustainability challenges such as climate change, water scarcity, and energy demand. Against the backdrop of a nationwide surge in clean energy investments, Nevada has notably thrived since the summer of 2022, benefiting from over $14.5 billion in new clean energy investments and projecting the creation of over 20,000 new jobs. The Nevada Sustainability Summit serves as a platform to celebrate these achievements and explore future opportunities for advancing the stateโ€™s sustainable economic growth.

โ€œNevada stands at the epicenter of global sustainability solutions, balancing its rich natural resources with formidable challenges in climate, water, energy, and air pollution,โ€ said Mel Mackin, interim director of state policy, Ceres. โ€œThis unique position โ€“ as well as several major private-sector investments in the state to build clean technology โ€“ makes Nevada a crucial player in tackling the planet’s most urgent challenges. The Nevada Sustainability Summit showcased efforts in the state to grow the stateโ€™s economy by addressing these challenges and further strengthen the partnership between leaders in the public and private sectors to achieve those goals.โ€
