TECNIMONT, through its Indian subsidiary Tecnimont Private Limited (TCMPL), in collaboration with NEXTCHEM, has secured an Engineering Design Study contract from Sembcorp Green Hydrogen India Pvt Ltd. The contract marks the initial phase of Front-End Engineering Design for a green ammonia plant to be situated in India.
The project will utilize NEXTCHEMโs digital tool ArcHy (Architecture of Hydrogen systems) to address challenges related to the intermittency of renewable power usage. This approach aims to optimize capital expenditure (capex) and operational expenditure (opex) efficiency throughout the plant’s lifecycle. ArcHy will employ renewable energy production data gathered over a year in various weather conditions to size components such as electrolyzers, storage systems, and green ammonia production facilities, thereby minimizing the plant’s levelized cost of ammonia.
Alessandro Bernini, CEO of MAIRE Tecnimont, emphasized the companyโs commitment to global energy transition initiatives, particularly in green ammonia plants. “Our involvement underscores our capability to propose engineering and technological solutions that align with industry decarbonization goals and enhance cost-efficiency,” Bernini stated. “This project demonstrates our integrated approach and reliability across all project phases.”
The contract mandates TCMPL to design all facility elements, offering specialized engineering services tailored to meet sustainability and operational requirements
