TP Renewable Microgrid Partners with NDDB to Advance Renewable Energy in Dairy Sector

TP Renewable Microgrid Limited (TPRMG), a leading solar microgrid company and a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Power, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB). The partnership aims to integrate renewable energy technologies into the dairy value chain, enhancing sustainability and operational efficiency.

The MoU was formalized by Dr. Meenesh Shah, Chairman & Managing Director of NDDB, and Mr. Manoj Gupta, CEO of TP Renewable Microgrid Limited. The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Praveer Sinha, CEO & Managing Director of Tata Power, Ms. Varsha Joshi, Additional Secretary of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India, along with other notable figures including Executive Directors of NDDB, the Managing Director of Mother Dairy, and the MD of NDDB Dairy Services.

The collaboration will focus on several key initiatives aimed at improving the dairy value chain’s sustainability. These initiatives include the solarization of Dairy Cooperative Societies (DCSs), Bulk Milk Coolers (BMCs), and Milk Chilling Centers using advanced solar microgrid technology.

Dr. Meenesh Shah emphasized the importance of this collaboration, stating, “This partnership marks a significant milestone in our vision for a sustainable and efficient milk value chain. By integrating renewable energy solutions, we seek to enhance operational efficiency and promote the use of green fuels. Our alliance with TPRMG will help achieve a greener and more sustainable dairy sector.”

One of the standout projects of this partnership is the plan to transform Mujkuva village in Anand district, Gujarat, into a Carbon Neutral Village. This initiative aims to foster sustainability in rural economies and create a greener future for the dairy industry.

Dr. Praveer Sinha commented on the partnership’s impact, saying, “Our collaboration with the National Dairy Development Board will revolutionize the dairy sector through the integration of advanced renewable energy technologies. This will significantly cut carbon emissions and improve operational efficiency, underscoring our commitment to sustainable development and setting new benchmarks in the industry.”

The partnership will also incorporate dung-based biogas power generators into the microgrids, along with energy-efficient stoves, solar dryers, and cold storage solutions to boost operational efficiencies in both dairy and agricultural sectors. Comprehensive energy audits will be conducted to identify and implement efficient, sustainable solutions.

This strategic alliance between TPRMG and NDDB is expected to set a new standard in the dairy industry by promoting green energy solutions and driving sustainability across the milk value chain, thereby contributing to Indiaโ€™s renewable energy adoption and rural development.
