Paired Power, a leading U.S. manufacturer of solar microgrid electric vehicle chargers, has installed its PairTree EV charger for Sonoco. The PairTree charger can operate on standalone solar power or as part of a microgrid with an optional grid connection.

PairTree is a U.S.-made solar canopy that combines battery storage with solar power, enabling day or night charging for electric vehicles. It also provides emergency backup power during grid outages, reducing dependence on the grid.

Designed for durability, PairTree is wind-rated up to 130 mph, making it suitable for regions with unpredictable weather like South Carolina. It fits into a standard 9 x 18-foot parking space, has no moving parts, and requires no ongoing maintenance, unlike traditional tracker solutions. PairTree offers one or two Level 2 EV charging ports with the industry-standard J1772 EV interface.

โ€œWeโ€™re thrilled to provide the first offgrid electric vehicle solar charger to Sonoco, a world-class company with a strong track record of reducing emissions through recyclable material sourcing and countless initiatives,โ€ said Tom McCalmont, Paired Power CEO. โ€œObtaining our PairTree to provide Sonocoโ€™s staff with truly green electric car charging is an extension of their leadershipโ€™s commitment to the environment.โ€
