Larsen & Toubro’s Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) division has recently been awarded significant contracts both domestically and internationally, aimed at enhancing the global electricity grid. These new projects will involve the establishment of substations and transmission lines, critical components in advancing the interconnected electricity network.
In India, PT&D has been contracted to develop two 765kV Double Circuit Transmission Line packages. These projects are designed to facilitate the transfer of power from the Jaisalmer/Barmer Renewable Energy Zone in Rajasthan to substations in Madhya Pradesh, supporting further network connections.
Abroad, PT&D is set to contribute to Saudi Arabia’s power infrastructure by strengthening the 380kV network in the central region. The division has secured contracts for constructing a 380kV Substation and 380kV Overhead line segments.
Additionally, in the United Arab Emirates, PT&D will build a 220kV Substation and three 132kV Substations. These new facilities will help meet the growing electricity demands in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, ensuring a more robust and reliable power supply.
These projects underscore PT&D’s commitment to supporting clean energy transitions and providing resilient power solutions globally.
