Envision Wind Power Technologies India Partners with Blueleaf Energy for Wind-Solar Hybrid Project

Envision Wind Power Technologies India Private Limited has announced a new turbine supply agreement with Blueleaf Energy for the deployment of EN-156 3.3 MW turbines. Blueleaf Energy, a prominent pan-Asian renewable energy platform under Macquarie Asset Management, will spearhead the construction of a wind-solar hybrid power project in Madhya Pradesh, set to begin in 2024 and complete by 2025.

The innovative project aims to integrate wind and solar power generation at a single site, ensuring a continuous clean energy supply and reducing the need for grid expansion. This approach is expected to lower the levelized cost of energy (LCOE). Amiram Roth-Deblon, Chief Operating Officer of Blueleaf Energy, highlighted the project’s potential to support strategic energy needs and contribute to Blueleaf’s goal of deploying over 5 GW of renewable energy capacity in India by 2030.

RPV Prasad, CEO of Envision Wind Power Technologies India, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, emphasizing the opportunity to harness Madhya Pradesh’s significant wind energy potential. In alignment with the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, Envision will assemble nacelles and hubs in Pune, manufacture blades locally or through Indian vendors, and source tower components from Maharashtra and Gujarat. Prasad underscored the role of the Indian wind energy sector in advancing the country’s net-zero objectives.

Kane Xu, Global Vice President of Envision Energy and Chairman of Envision Energy India, reiterated the importance of partnerships in accelerating the green energy transition. Xu noted that the collaboration with Blueleaf Energy underscores Envision’s dedication to developing sustainable energy solutions in India.

The project represents a substantial investment of approximately ₹500 crores and has created over 2,000 direct and indirect job opportunities. Envision Wind Power Technologies India has previously installed over 1550 MW of wind energy projects and secured 7.7 GW from 21 independent power producers. To support ongoing growth, Envision has established a 3 GW annual manufacturing capacity for nacelles and hubs in Pune and a 2.5 GW capacity for blades between its Trichy plant and a global vendor near Bengaluru.
