SJVN Green Energy Limited Opens Bidding for 75 MW Solar Project in Bihar

SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL), a fully owned subsidiary of SJVN Limited, has announced an open tender for a 75 MW (AC) solar power project in Banka, Bihar. The project, which is set to be executed through a Single Stage Two Envelope system, involves the design, engineering, supply, erection, testing, commissioning, and comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M) for three years.

SGEL has secured a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Bihar Renewable Energy Development Agency (BREDA), following a Request for Proposal (RFP) issued earlier. The solar modules required for this project must be sourced from models listed in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s (MNRE) Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM).

Key dates for the tender process include the availability of bid documents from August 19 to September 9, 2024, and a pre-bid meeting scheduled for August 30, 2024. The deadline for bid submission is September 10, 2024, with the opening of the techno-commercial bids on the same day. The price bid opening and e-reverse auction dates will be communicated to qualified bidders.

The project is expected to attract significant interest due to its scale and strategic importance in expanding renewable energy capacity in India. Bidders must meet stringent technical and financial criteria, including experience in handling large-scale solar projects and a minimum average annual turnover of INR 114 Crores over the last three financial years.

The tender details and bidding process are available on the official e-tendering website, with the entire process being conducted electronically to ensure transparency and efficiency. Interested parties must submit the required bid security or Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of INR 7.5 Crores, with options to transmit the bid security via the Structured Financial Messaging System (SFMS) Gateway through the State Bank of India.
