Ohmium International, a leading green hydrogen company specializing in advanced Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) electrolyzers, has been recognized once again as a SIGHT Incentive Program award winner by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). This marks the second time the company has received this prestigious award.

Ohmium has been granted support for up to 137 MW of capacity under Tranche II of the SIGHT Incentive Program. The award acknowledges the company’s high-performing electrolyzers and its significant contributions to the local economy. Notably, Ohmium is the only PEM electrolyzer manufacturer to receive this recognition in Tranche II.

Arne Ballantine, CEO of Ohmium, emphasized the importance of the award in furthering the company’s mission. “Our selection for this award demonstrates the Ohmium teamโ€™s commitment to excellence and to the global decarbonization effort, particularly in India,” Ballantine stated.

This latest award follows Ohmiumโ€™s earlier success in Tranche I of the SIGHT program. The tenders, managed by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), aim to incentivize the development of 1.5 GW of domestic electrolyzer manufacturing capacity as part of Indiaโ€™s broader sustainability goals.

Ballantine also highlighted the strategic importance of the program in advancing Indiaโ€™s role as a global energy hub. “These funds will accelerate the expansion of Ohmiumโ€™s Gigafactory in Bangalore and support future local manufacturing facilities,” he noted.

Ohmium is currently the leading PEM electrolyzer manufacturer in India, with key partnerships including NTPC and Tata Projects. The company has a robust green hydrogen project pipeline exceeding 2 GW, spanning four continents and catering to a diverse array of industries, including energy, transportation, steel production, and heavy industry.
