NTPC and RVUNL Sign Landmark Agreement to Develop 25 GW Renewable Energy and 1 MMTPA Green Hydrogen Projects in Rajasthan

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) and Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RVUNL) have signed a Joint Venture Agreement (JVA) to advance green energy and green hydrogen projects in Rajasthan. The agreement was formalized on September 17, 2024, in Jaipur, with the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, in attendance.

The JVA was exchanged between Sh. Rajiv Gupta, CEO of NGEL, and Sh. Devendra Shringi, CMD of RVUNL. The signing ceremony was also attended by other notable figures, including Sh. Gajendra Singh Khimsar, Hon’ble Minister of Medical and Health, Sh. Jogaram Patel, Hon’ble Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Smt. Manju Sharma, Member of Parliament for Jaipur, and Sh. Alok (IAS), ACS (Energy), among others.

As part of the event, the Chief Minister dedicated 160 MW of the total 320 MW Solar Power Project at Bhainsara to the nation.

The new joint venture will focus on developing 25 GW of renewable energy projects and producing 1 million metric tons per annum (MMTPA) of green hydrogen and its derivatives in Rajasthan, contributing significantly to the stateโ€™s green energy and zero-emission goals
