SECI CMD Highlights India’s Roadmap To Net Zero At RE-INVEST 2024

Shri R P Gupta, CMD of SECI, attended the 4th Global Renewable Energy Investors Meet & Expo (RE-INVEST 2024) organized by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) from 16th to 18th September 2024 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The event was inaugurated by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, with the valedictory session presided over by Vice President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar.

During the event, Shri Gupta discussed India’s pathway to achieving net zero emissions and emphasized SECI’s role in facilitating the transition to renewable energy. He highlighted how SECI is streamlining this shift through innovative tenders and strengthening the renewable energy supply chain to meet the country’s growing energy demands.

Shri Gupta also underlined the importance of international collaboration in achieving these goals. He noted that India is open to sharing technology to foster the expansion and adoption of renewable energy. He stressed that achieving net zero emissions on a global scale requires joint efforts from nations, with collaboration being crucial for a seamless transition to renewable energy and a more sustainable future.

SECI, a leading Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU), plays a key role in developing and expanding renewable energy capacity in India. As the government’s primary Renewable Energy Implementing Agency (REIA), SECI continues to drive forward national and international commitments toward sustainable development through its various initiatives.
