Nahargarh Ranthambore, a luxury palace hotel located in the heart of Ranthambore Tiger Reserve, marks the first anniversary of its successful green energy transition. The hotel, owned by Shri Gaj Singh Ji of the Alsisar Group of Hotels, has embraced sustainability through the installation of a 400kW agrivoltaic solar plant, significantly reducing its carbon footprint and integrating renewable energy with agricultural activities.

Commitment to Sustainability and Wildlife Conservation

Shri Gaj Singh Ji, reflecting on the milestone, emphasized that the move to renewable energy was driven by his dedication to preserving nature and promoting wildlife conservation. “Preserving the environment is not an option; it’s a responsibility,” he stated. “With Vareyn Solar’s help, we’ve taken meaningful steps toward reducing our impact on the planet while supporting wildlife conservation.”

The 400kW solar plant, installed by Vareyn Solar Pvt. Ltd., has helped the hotel generate approximately 6 lakh units of energy in its first year, offsetting nearly 300,000 kilograms of carbon dioxide emissions. The agrivoltaic system allows for banana farming around the plant’s perimeter, maximizing land use and providing a farm-to-table experience for guests.

Sustainable Tourism and Economic Impact

This initiative has positioned Nahargarh Ranthambore as a leader in sustainable hospitality, showcasing the benefits of integrating renewable energy with luxury tourism. The hotel’s green efforts are expected to generate an equivalent environmental impact to offset the carbon emissions of a 200-acre forest over the plant’s operational life.

In addition to the environmental benefits, the project offers significant economic advantages. The solar plant is projected to deliver a 48% revenue increase over the next 23 years, with a payback period of just two years. The CAPEX+ Model, offered by Vareyn Solar, provided the hotel with collateral-free financing at an 8% interest rate and includes maintenance services for two years.

Industry Collaboration

Ishan Chaturvedi, Co-Founder of Vareyn Solar Pvt. Ltd., emphasized the importance of renewable energy in the hospitality sector. “The project at Nahargarh is a great opportunity for similar establishments to see how solar energy can drive large-scale savings. We are honored to be part of this collaboration,” he said.
