“As we approach COP 29 in Baku, it’s pertinent to reflect on the tangible steps we’ve taken since the last summit and assess our collective progress. In the face of rising global temperatures, escalating natural disasters, and intensifying social and economic pressures, the climate crisis demands an urgent, unified response.

Last year, countries committed to trebling global renewables capacity by 2030. In order to reach this target, we need a grid that matches the growth in renewables. That means companies must collaborate with governments from around the world to ensure a grid fit for 2030.

It’s not only about advancing a sustainable energy future—it’s also about creating an energy ecosystem that ensures the benefits of clean energy trickle down to all. We can only address the unprecedented scale of the climate challenge by deepening our commitments and fostering robust collaboration that goes beyond geographical boundaries.

The journey to net zero is not just an end; it’s an imperative, a shared responsibility that transcends borders. At COP 29, we must put our best foot forward to convert our pledges into purposeful action driven by innovation and a long-term vision. The climate challenge in front of us is bigger than one individual, one company and one nation, and we must seize this moment to reinforce our collective resolve.

COP 29 presents us with an opportunity to transform ideas into action to protect our beloved earth for today’s generations and create a legacy of sustainable energy future for those yet to come.”
