The deadline for stakeholders to submit comments on the proposed amendments to the guidelines for tariff-based competitive bidding in power procurement has been extended by 15 days. These guidelines are crucial for the procurement of power from various grid-connected renewable energy sources, including solar, wind, and hybrid projects, as well as firm and dispatchable power from renewable projects paired with energy storage systems. Originally set to close sooner, the new deadline for submitting feedback is now November 24, 2024.
The amendments aim to refine the competitive bidding process, ensuring transparent, efficient procurement of renewable power, which is essential for supporting the energy transition. Stakeholders, including project developers, utility companies, and policy experts, are encouraged to provide their input to enhance the guidelines.
Submissions should be sent via email within the extended timeline. This extension has been granted following the approval of the competent authority, allowing more time for thorough review and stakeholder engagement on the proposed changes.
