SECI And H2Global Partner To Advance Green Hydrogen Initiatives In India

The Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd (SECI), operating under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with H2Global Stiftung to promote Green Hydrogen initiatives. This agreement aims to create a collaborative framework for knowledge sharing on market-based mechanisms and foster cooperation between India and hydrogen-importing countries. The initiative is expected to contribute significantly to the global development of the green hydrogen economy.

The MoU was signed on November 19, 2024, by Shri Sanjay Sharma, Director (Solar) at SECI, and Dr. Susana Moreira, Executive Director of H2Global Stiftung. The signing ceremony was attended by notable dignitaries, including Mr. Timo Bollerhey, CEO of HintCo, Mr. Markus Exenberger, Executive Director of H2Global Foundation, Shri Prashant Kumar Singh, Secretary of MNRE, Shri Abhay Bhakare, Mission Director of the National Green Hydrogen Mission, Dr. Prasad Chapekar, Deputy Secretary of MNRE, and Shri K R Jyothi Lal, Additional Chief Secretary of Kerala.

This collaboration is expected to help India explore innovative tender design concepts, particularly joint tenders that align with the nationโ€™s goal of becoming a global export hub for green hydrogen and its derivatives. Additionally, the partnership will provide insights into international hydrogen market dynamics, trade logistics, and stakeholder engagement. These efforts are anticipated to strengthen Indiaโ€™s position in the green hydrogen sector and accelerate progress towards its renewable energy objectives.
