Joanna’s remarkable journey with Jinko Solar began in 2016, and over the past eight years, she has grown into a pivotal leader in the renewable energy sector. Starting as a Sales Support Manager, she advanced to leading the Order Fulfillment Team for the Middle East and Africa region, mastering Solar PV sales operations along the way. Her efforts have been instrumental in the execution of approximately 13 GW of C&I and utility solar projects.
Now, Joanna has embraced a new role as the leader of Jinko’s Sub-Saharan Africa Sales team. Together with her highly driven team, she is focused on fostering robust partnerships across East Africa, West Africa, and the SADC region. Under her leadership, the team aims to prioritize mutual profitability and sustainable growth, aligning with Jinko Solar’s mission to deliver innovative and bankable solar solutions to the region.
Can you tell us about the key trends you’re seeing in the Sub-Saharan Africa solar PV market, and how is Jinko Solar adapting to them?
The market is currently flooded with low-tier and low-quality solar PV panels because of the market sensitivity to pricing. As leading Tier 1 manufacturers, we are sensitizing the market to understand the need to invest in bankable technologies like Topcon and get solutions from bankable manufacturers, which are key elements of a bankable project. Together we build great energy systems with reliable technology and better PV product performance that stands for the test of time.
Can you outline the recently launched Tiger Neo 3.0 module & what are the key features and innovations that enhance efficiency and durability in SSA?
Jinko Solar Tiger Neo 3.0 module is our latest PV product, supported by four major innovative technologies, they are ME, 20BB,HCP and MAX. It has advanced power generation with reduced power losses from both the front and rear sides of the module. It offers greatly improved cell efficiencies, reliability, and reduced defect possibilities. It increases the bi-faciality factors to 85%~90%. This 3rd generation of Jinko Solar Tiger Neo PV module will have overall most enhanced module performance and will significantly improve the LCOE of the project.
How is Jinko utilizing technological advancements to leverage its development, optimize performance, and contribute to Sub-Saharan Africa’s sustainability goals by 2025?
Sub–Saharan Africa’s sustainability is the Jinko Solar SSA team’s goal and is aligned with our daily practices. As a world-leading Solar PV manufacturer, Jinko solar PV module is well known for its innovation and more value for money features. It has competitive costing with time-lasting value to end users. Our technological advancement is realized through continuous exploration of cell efficiency improvement and manufacturing process optimization. Every Jinko solar PV module has passed through a rigorous quality assurance process during production. SSA’s sustainability requires stable and reliable PV module performance, we will continue to provide quality products with a reasonable cost factor. SSA solar PV users shall not compromise the quality requirements for low prices.
What strategies does Jinko plan for improving customer engagement and support in Sub-Saharan Africa as you approach 2025?
To improve customer engagement and support SSA business development. Jinko Solar plans to enhance partnerships with stakeholders in both DG and C&I sectors and continue to conduct technical alignment with industry experts and engineers. We will help to update the latest technology understanding and timely support our partners. Enhancing our sales force with comprehensive technical training, and webinars to resolve project design challenges and troubleshoot during the entire project implementation process.
