Berkeley Partners, a national real estate firm managing 11 million square feet of property, has partnered with Wunder, a leading provider of commercial energy solutions, to install a 335-kilowatt solar system at one of its industrial sites in eastern Massachusetts. The system, which went live in September 2024, is part of Berkeley Partnersโ€™ commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals. Remarkably, the installation came at no upfront cost to the company. The solar panels are expected to produce 392,707 kilowatt hours of electricity in their first year, helping to reduce CO2 emissions by over 604,820 pounds.

Dave Riess, CEO of Wunder, said in a statement, โ€œThis solar project is a prime example of how financial prudence and sustainability can go hand in hand. Leveraging the Massachusetts Community Solar program, this installation offers significant energy bill savings for the local community and it provides more clean power to the Bay state. Weโ€™re proud to support Berkeley in their ongoing commitment to sustainable and economically sound energy solutions.โ€

The rooftop solar project is creating revenue by participating in Massachusetts’ Community Solar program. This program allows the power generated by the solar system to be sold at a discount to the propertyโ€™s tenants, as well as to other local businesses and residents within the utility’s service area. This project is part of a larger national partnership between Berkeley Partners and Wunder, with more solar projects currently being built and set to go live in the near future.
