Neosun Energy, a global EPC company, has successfully installed and launched a commercial solar station at Dayizenza Mall in Nelspruit, South Africa. The newly announced grid-tied solar PV plant, with a capacity of 1 MW, showcases the companyโ€™s dedication to sustainable energy solutions. The project stands out financially, offering an impressive 53% internal rate of return (IRR) and a quick payback period of just 12 months, thanks to the Section 12B government tax incentive. Over its lifespan, the plant is expected to save more than R164 million, making it a highly economical renewable energy investment.

Environmentally, the installation will cut 25,807 tons of CO2 emissions, positioning Dayizenza Mall as a sustainability leader in the Nelspruit region. The on-grid system includes 1,706 solar panels paired with seven on-grid inverters. In its first year, it is projected to generate over 1.6 GWh of electricity, averaging around 4.38 MWh per dayโ€”ideal for a high-solar-irradiance area like Nelspruit.

Jeanine Jackson, Head of Sales at NEOSUN South Africa, said in a statement, โ€œThe solar power plant is projected to deliver monthly electricity savings in excess of 50-60% over its lifetime, contributing to both environmental and financial benefits. The service life of the solar station is more than 40 years. The initiative underscores Dayizenza Mallโ€™s dedication to reducing its environmental impact and supporting the transition to clean energy solutions in the commercial sector.โ€

It highlights the financial and environmental advantages of renewable energy solutions, contributing to a cleaner, more sustainable future. Our mission in South Africa is to help local enterprises to gain access to electricity since it is crucial for any business, especially in rural areas where the price for electricity is very high and supply is not stable.โ€

Ilya Likhov, CEO of Neosun Energy, added, โ€œElectricity is an oxygen for business and this 1 MW project for Dayizenza Mall is a special symbol for us. It shows how fast we can build the solar power system to reduce the cost for electricity and increase the energy independence for businesses operational efficiency.โ€

Neosun Energy has expanded its presence in South Africa by opening new branches in Cape Town and Johannesburg, ensuring better accessibility for local customers. For businesses in the region, solar energy offers a cost-effective solution, standing out as the most affordable form of energy generation.
