Vena Energy, a leading provider of green energy solutions across the Asia-Pacific region, has announced the successful commercial operation of its 176 MW Gudadur Hybrid Project. This groundbreaking project integrates both solar and wind technologies, demonstrating Vena Energy’s commitment to delivering innovative renewable energy solutions.

Strategically located in Karnataka, the Gudadur Hybrid Project features a combined capacity of 48 MWp of solar power and 128 MW of wind power. By harnessing the complementary strengths of both renewable sources, the project ensures round-the-clock sustainable power generation.

The Gudadur Hybrid Project is expected to generate enough clean energy to power over 500,000 households annually. Its annual electricity production will help avoid approximately 73,600 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions, equivalent to taking over 15,000 cars off the road each year.

Beyond its environmental benefits, the project has had a significant socio-economic impact. During peak construction, it created over 700 local jobs, with 70% of the workforce sourced from nearby communities. Additionally, 50% of project contracts were awarded to local service providers, bolstering the regional economy.

The Gudadur Hybrid Project represents a critical milestone in Vena Energy’s mission to accelerate the energy transition across the Asia-Pacific region. With this commissioning, Vena Energy’s total operational capacity in India now stands at 875 MW, supporting India’s national target of sourcing 50% of its electricity from renewable resources by 2030.
