NTPC Green Energy Signs Memorandum Of Understanding With Bihar Government To Boost RE Projects

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a subsidiary of NTPC, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Industries, Government of Bihar, during the “Bihar Business Connect 2024” Global Investorsโ€™ Summit, held on December 20, 2024, in Patna. The MoU was exchanged between Shri Alok Ranjan Ghosh, Director (Industries) from the Government of Bihar, and Shri Bimal Gopalachari, Addl. GM (Business Development) from NGEL. The event was attended by Shri Nitish Mishra, the Honโ€™ble Industries Minister, Smt. Bandana Preyashi, Secretary (Industries) from the Government of Bihar, Shri Sudip Nag, Regional ED (East-I) from NTPC, and other senior officials from the Government of Bihar, NTPC, and NGEL.

The MoU sets the stage for major investments in Bihar aimed at the development of renewable energy projects. These include ground-mounted and floating solar installations, battery energy storage systems, and initiatives for green hydrogen mobility. The Government of Bihar will assist in facilitating necessary permissions, registrations, approvals, and clearances from relevant departments and authorities to support the implementation of these projects. This partnership marks a significant step towards enhancing the state’s renewable energy capacity and promoting sustainable energy solutions.
