NTPC Invites Bids For 1,400 MW Solar PV Projects In Lalitpur And Chitrakoot, Uttar Pradesh

NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has invited online bids for the Balance of System (BOS) package for the development of 1,400 MW grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) projects in Uttar Pradesh. The projects are divided across two sites: Lalitpur (2×300 MW) and Chitrakoot (2×400 MW). The invitation for bids, issued was dated December 23, 2024. The bidding documents will be available for download from January 3, 2025, until January 13, 2025, with the pre-bid conference scheduled for January 16, 2025. The last date for bid submission is January 30, 2025.

The scope of work includes comprehensive services such as designing, engineering, manufacturing, and commissioning. It also covers site preparation, installation of fixed tilt module mounting structures, construction of inverter and control rooms, and implementation of a robotic dry-cleaning system for PV modules. The contractor is required to ensure compliance with grid connectivity regulations and maintain the system for three years after commissioning. These projects will use solar PV modules supplied by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited.

The estimated project sites span significant areas, with Lalitpur covering approximately 1,479.41 and 1,500 acres for its respective blocks, and Chitrakoot encompassing approximately 1,900 and 1,995 acres for its blocks. Each block’s DC: AC ratio is designed at 1.45. Additionally, the contractor must construct roads, drainage systems, and internal fencing, along with installing SCADA systems for remote monitoring and power quality control.

To participate, bidders must submit an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of โ‚น25 crore. They are also required to furnish a Performance Bank Guarantee (PBG) amounting to 10% of the contract value. The package allows bidders to select capacities ranging from one block of 300 MW to the entire 1,400 MW capacity.

The reverse auction and price bid opening dates will be communicated later.
